
Call Announcement - submission types
Papers
A general call for full paper submissions is now open to December 4th 2006. The Congress program will contain multiple tracks and session groups of accepted presentations. These will support the congress theme and four pillars, or sub-topics,. Paper acceptance follows an international peer-review process that will be due for completion by 31 January 2007. Selected presenters will have a short period of time to edit or add to their paper prior to publication and presentation.

Your completed manuscript submission needs to be uploaded electronically via the Congress website medinfo2007.org and your submission will be receipted once received.
Panels
An invitation for panel presentations for a one and a half hour session is open. Panels combine the current work of global experts and knowledge developers on very topical issues, state-of-the-art overviews, perspectives and trends from around the world.
Posters An invitation for poster submission is open. Several hundred posters are expected to present in-progress medical and health informatics research, knowledge and futures work. Posters will be presented within formal poster sessions as well as ongoingly via Poster PCs during the congress. Medinfo 2007 poster presenters are required to submit a full but short paper for peer review. Accepted presenters are expected to produce a hard copy poster for their allocated session. They are provided with the opportunity to use their laptop plus provide twelve (12) PPT slides for ongoing PC viewing.
Demonstrations
Demonstrations of fully deployed and innovative non-commercial systems will feature within the program. To submit for a demonstration a paper for review is a pre-requisite.
Workshops including Industry Presentations Medinfo 2007 workshops are scheduled to be offered pre-congress and during the congress itself. This is a another opportunity for congress participants to further discover interest and engage in discussion on their selected topic or to share real life examples of bringing informatics innovation to practice through industry and health partner collaboration .
Tutorials
Pre-congress Tutorial topic submissions will be evaluated on the basis of anticipated educational, knowledge value, participant benefit, tutor qualifications/credentials and on how well the proposal meets an educational market need. Global tutorial topics strengthen workforce capacity building, understanding and informatics knowledge dissemination. Submissions need to cover essential health informatics topics, hot topics, hot buttons and other unique innovative areas.
IMIA Working Group and Special Interest Group Meetings
IMIA Working Group Chairpersons are invited to submit their meeting request and time requirement for room allocation purposes and to enable the inclusion of their meeting notice into the program. This may be in addition to a workshop, tutorial or panel proposal.
HISA and HINZ special interest group chairpersons are invited to submit a short abstract of topic, presenter(s) and time requirement for pre-congress presentations.
